Managing director of The Fitness Lounge, Kevin Barclay-Webb, has announced plans to expand his vibrational fitness concept as a UK-wide franchise.
Following the success of the flagship Fitness Lounge in north London, where only 18 per cent of the membership consider themselves to be traditional gym users, the company has opened its second franchise in central Glasgow.
Long-term expansion plans comprise opening a further 100 franchises within the next five years. The first 10 will be launched in the next 12 months and will include sites in Weybridge, Barnet, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Brighton and Hereford as well as Mauritius.
The Fitness Lounge is based on a vibration concept, which uses VibroGym platforms to reduce a 90-minute workout to just 15 minutes.
The vibrational and unweighted training is considered suitable for people of all ages and abilities, particularly the elderly and those with injuries or suffering physical ailments such as fibromyalgia, arthritis and MS. Details: www.thefitnesslounge.co.uk
