Farmers oppose spa resort
The inhabitants of one of the world’s smallest active volcanoes on the island of Luzon in the Philippines are reportedly attempting to block the impending construction of a resort spa on the island.
According to ABS-CBN, farmers and locals are opposing the Taal Volcano Spa Resort project of the Korean-owned Jung Ang Interventure Corp, claiming it is ‘a classic case of land grabbing’ and that they weren’t consulted about the resort at any stage by the municipal authorities.
