Council in pledge to reopen fire-hit complex
Wiltshire Council has said that it is working with operator DC Leisure to reopen the fire-damaged Lime Kiln Leisure Centre in Wootton Bassett "as soon as possible".
The council revealed that damage caused by December's blaze was centred on the health suite, the swimming changing rooms and the main corridor. Lime Kiln's swimming pool plant room has also suffered structural and roof damage, while the swimming pool hall itself has experienced "heavy" smoke pollution.
A council spokesperson said: "The council is currently evaluating how it can bring key areas of the centre back into use, while planning the works necessary to reinstate the rest of the centre in due course."
