Cannons to de-stress city workers with punches
Cannons has launched its first dedicated boxing area at its City of London site.
According to the health club operator, boxing is used by city workers as a stress reliever and has now responded to the increase in demand by converting an exercise studio into a new training space, specifically designed by Escape Fitness.
Steven Sykes, spokesperson for Escape Fitness, said: “This new development at Cannons is a fine example of an operator listening to its customers and exceeding their expectations.”
A 16sq ft boxing ring forms the focal point of the new area. Raised 3ft from the ground, the ring has punch bags at its corners which can be used both in and outside of the ring.
Members can also practise their skills on the 3-in-1 boxing station. This free-standing, multi-functional piece of kit includes a combination punch bag, speed ball and floor to ceiling ball allowing three users to train at one time.
Cannons now aims to incorporate boxing training provision in other sites within the group.
