For anyone who gets engaged this Valentine's Day, Brandon Leisure Centre can now provide an unusual and cost effective wedding venue for under a thousand pounds.

Whilst the average cost of a UK wedding is estimated to be just over £20,000 in 2012, Brandon Leisure Centre can offer brides, grooms and up to 50 guests a dream day for much less. The new 'Grand Wedding Package' includes a three-course celebration meal served to table, a complimentary glass of wine during the meal, a complimentary glass of champagne to toast the occasion and an evening disco all for only £999. Up to an additional 25 guests can also be catered for at an additional fee.

Nigel Snape, Manager of Brandon Leisure Centre, says: "Since we have had the leisure centre refurbished we now have excellent facilities for events ranging from weddings to conferences, training workshops to general knees ups. We can cater for anything from a small meeting of up to 20 people to dances with up to 150."

People wanting to hold their wedding at the leisure centre do not need to be members but Nigel adds: "Those who are coming down to get in shape for their wedding will also be able to check up on their planning arrangements whenever they call in and it's lovely for staff to be able to support the bride-to-be as she gets closer to her big day."

Tony Bass, chief executive of Anglia Community Leisure, says: "We have a fantastic space here in Brandon and some great new facilities, including the Montage Café Bar, so we want to turn the centre into a real community venue that is available for local people and businesses to enjoy."

Room hire for business meetings starts from just £12 an hour to include flip chart, projector and big screen TV. Teas, coffees and buffet menus are also available.
