The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded £2m towards the Neroche Scheme at Blackdown Hills, UK.
Spanning the border of Somerset and Devon, the Blackdown Hills are an area of Outstanding National Beauty.
The Neroche Scheme aims to conserve the area’s natural landscape alongside its man-made and cultural heritage and focuses on an area covering 35 square miles.
The scheme will also improve habitats for the local wildlife in the public forest, improve access to the landscape and maintain archeological features of the area, such as Castle Neroche. Details: www.forestry.gov.uk
