Ballyclare Activity Trail handed WorldHost Tourism Hotspot status
Ballyclare Activity Trail is the first place in the UK to be awarded WorldHost Tourism Hotspot status, having delivered high levels of customer service.
The Trail represents 10 businesses in the Ballyclare area in Northern Ireland's County Antrim, which have joined together to offer a number of choices to tourists and day visitors looking to explore the region.
The group offers choices of accommodation, places to eat and a number of activities including fishing, archery, golf, walking, orienteering, outdoor activities, horse-riding, indoor soccer and go-karting.
The announcement was made at the recent Northern Ireland Tourist Board Customer Service Masterclass.
WorldHost is a customer service training provider, which is supported by the NITB, the Department of Employment and Learning and the sector skills council, People 1st.
The WorldHost Recognition Award is presented to businesses that have had training provided to 50 per cent of their workforce.
“We are delighted to be part of the Ballyclare Activity Trail. This is an excellent example of local businesses getting together to market and promote themselves jointly, to offer visitors to the area, and local people, some great ideas for a day or weekend out,” said Henrietta Reade of Breckenhill, one of the ten members of the Ballyclare Activity Trail.
“All the members of the trail are thrilled to have become the first WorldHost Tourism Hotspot in the UK, and hope that this recognition will raise awareness of what we are doing and show our commitment to our customers.”
The businesses that make up the Trail include: Breckenhill, Dunamoy Cottages, Ballyclare Golf Club, 5 Corners, Tildarg Fishery, Soccer Shed, Ballyrobert Cottage Garden, Need 4 Speed, Ballylagan Organic Farm and Laurel View Equestrian Centre.
