BTA reveals new chief executive
The British Tourist Authority (BTA) has announced the appointment of Tom Wright as chief executive designate from 1 June 2002, replacing Jeff Hamblin on 1 August 2002.
Welcoming the appointment, BTA chair David Quarmby said: 'I am delighted that Tom is joining BTA. He will bring highly relevant, senior management and commercial experience to the vital task of determining and leading BTA's future strategy.'
Tom Wright joins BTA from Saga Holidays, where he has been managing director since 1999. He plans to visit each of BTA's twenty-seven offices around the world and meet with BTA's key UK stakeholders and industry partners.
