Argyll Collection artworks to go on display
A selection of artworks from The Argyll Collection - originally established as an education resource for Argyll and Bute schools - are to go on display at Inveraray Castle.
Argyll and Bute Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund have provided funding to enable the Creative Arts in Schools Team (CAST) to collate and restore the collection. His Grace, the Duke of Argyll has given his permission for the pieces to be put on display at the castle, with free admission for local school children between 12-31 May.
The collection was established by Jim Tyre working with Naomi Mitchison between 1970 and 1990, and works will be soon redistributed to secondary schools as intended.
