Rides distributor Mondial World of Rides has recognized a trend towards family rides in the international market.
Sales manager Theo van Zwieten said the company's combination of mostly new rides but with some refurbished rides, plus the ability to supply new and innovative rides for both the thrill market and the family ride business, meant it was able to supply a cross-section of everything.
"The industry is currently recognising that children like family rides, but as they get older they like the thrills too."
The company is appealing to the thrill rides business with Heartbreaker, which comes in at 15m x 9m by 9.5m and will take 16 people at a time.
A travelling ride, it will be going to a buyer which the company said was on mainland Europe with a second destined for a traveller in the US. "We had to adapt it for use in the US," said van Zwieten, "to comply with American regulations for road transportation."
In Australia the company will supply a 45m wheel which will be built at the Sydney State Fair for Easter, taking eight passengers in each gondola.
