A Mann of considerable experience
Peter Mann has been involved in the leisure industry for more than 33 years, in both the public and private sectors.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities within PMP, he is a board director of Business in Sport and Leisure (BISL), a committee member of the Leisure Property Forum (LPF) and a member of the Institute of Directors.
He sits on the Strategy and Policy Committee of British Expertise (formerly the British Consultants and Contractors Bureau) and is an active member of the UK Trade & Investment’s Sports and Leisure Infrastructure Group.
He graduated in Education (B.Ed Hons) from Reading University and has an MSc in Leisure Management from Loughborough University. He is a former external examiner at Nottingham Trent University and a visiting lecturer at numerous universities around the world. He is a regular keynote speaker on the national and international stage and most recently was the creator of the successful Legacy Lives 2007 conference in London.
Peter’s previous career encompasses local government (Broxtowe District Council and Portsmouth City Council) En-tout-cas plc (sports facility planning and construction) Crest Nicholson plc (residential, commercial and leisure development) and his first consultancy company Strategic Leisure, which he founded in1988.
He established PMP in 1996 and after several years as managing director, growing the company, he is now executive chairman.
His remit includes corporate governance and board responsibilities; major sport and leisure projects throughout the UK and overseas and as the lead director for the company’s major event division, pmpLEGACY.
Current clients in this capacity include the ODA (2012 Olympic Delivery Authority) World Cup Barbados (Cricket World Cup 2007) Glasgow 2014 (Candidate City for the 2014 Commonwealth Games) CAN 2008 (African Cup of Nations 2008) and a leading world city, planning to bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
