SBC to consider leisure contract changes
Members of Slough Borough Council's (SBC) cabinet are to discuss a reduction in the fee paid to Slough Community Leisure (SCL) for the management of its leisure facilities.
The matter will be discussed at a meeting today (13 June), with the current deal allowing the council to perform a three-yearly review of the management fee. A contract for 2011-14 has been negotiated by SBC officers, who recommend that cabinet members reduce the cost of the contract to a minimum of £263,000 in 2013-14.
SBC commissioner for community and leisure Shafiq Chaudhry said: "The proposals being put forward to cabinet members could cut the management fee paid by the council by up to 54 per cent while retaining current levels of service."
