Pure Gym, has been named the highest-ranked leisure company on the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list, coming in in 23rd place.

The league table, which was published on 8 December, ranks Britain's 100 private companies with the fastest-growing sales over the previous three years.

The fitness provider has seen sales of £30.6m this year and a 111.98 per cent increase in sales over the past three years.

The Gym Group followed narrowly behind Pure Gym in 25th place, with sales climbing to £22.6m in 2012 marking a 104.32 per cent increase. The Gym Group now has 38 health clubs nationwide, with a further 26 in the pipeline.

Further down the list in 74th place, Norwich City became the only football club to make the cut, showing a 60.67 per cent increase on sales since 2010, with sales of £69.4m for 2012.

Pub and restaurant operator Pearmain Pubs also made the list, coming in 97th place with a 50.53 per cent increase and sales of £7.8m for 2012.
