New-look facility opens in Houghton Regis

A 60-station fitness suite with cardiovascular, strength and resistance equipment has opened at Houghton Regis Leisure Centre, Bedfordshire, following a £100,000 refurbishment.
Technogym has supplied fitness equipment as part of the Central Bedfordshire Council-led overhaul, along with Life Fitness. A free weights area and racket sports are also on offer at the new-look facility.
Stevenage Leisure (SLL) has taken over the operation of Houghton Regis Leisure Centre in a recently-signed leisure management contract, the process for which involved local residents.
A new membership model - Lifestyles@Houghton - has been introduced by SLL, which offers memberships from £17.99 a month and includes unlimited use of the new fitness room.
