Benefiting from more than 30 years professional leisure expertise Pulse provided Montsaye Academy in Rothwell with an objective assessment of how it could increase school fitness facilities to generate a revenue surplus while covering year-round operational costs.

Pulse recommendations included equipment selection, design and layout, building refurbishment, including decoration and branding, and facility management issues such as marketing, sales, security and IT infrastructure.

With a strict budget and a six week deadline, Pulse transformed the shell of a disused engineering building into a state-of-the-art fitness facility; which now boasts a 30 station fitness suite, a dance studio with 16 group cycles, SmartCentre gym management software, interactive Dance Mats and Pulse’ latest connectivity solution Club Lead.

Peter Leaver, business manager at Montsaye Academy said: “Pulse has been at the heart of the entire project offering much needed support across all aspects. We are delighted with the end results, we now have a facility that is at the centre of community and school life that does not limit by age, ability or economic circumstance.”

Since the opening in October more than 1,500 students, community members and staff have visited the facility, with continued support from Pulse membership is expected to reach 1800 by quarter two.
