A new £6.3m swimming pool currently being built in Bridgwater, Somerset, remains "on course" to open in early 2013, according to Sedgemoor District Council (SDC).
The council - along with partners Somerset County Council, leisure trust 1610, BAM and Futures for Somerset - recently visited the site to monitor progress on the project.
A 25m, six-lane pool; a training pool; and spectator seating will form part of the new pool, which adds to the dry facilities at Trinity Sports and Leisure that opened last November.
The scheme also allows for an expanded leisure centre offering a 50-station fitness studio and a café. Scott Brownrigg Architects are behind the design of the pool.
SDC portfolio holder for community and scrutiny John Swayne said: "We can't wait for the local community to see just how amazing and adaptable this pool is."
