ZigZag launches skills academy
Interactive gym equipment supplier ZigZag, part of the PTE group, has launched a training academy to deliver courses for adults and young people wanting to work with children in the leisure and fitness industry.
The first two courses to launch are the Certificate in Adapting Gym Instruction for Adolescents and ActivFutures.
The former qualification is a one-day course, designed to provide the skills to modifty instruction for a teenage market and to understand the physiology and psychological issues that affect their ability to exercise.
As an ActiveIQ Level 2 qualifcation is worth 20 REPs CPD points. ActiveFutures is a two-day workshop aimed at those working with ages four - 11-years-old in fitness, leisure or a school environment.
The ZigZag Academy will replace the company's ActivKids arm and will run from three regional training centres in Basingstoke, Bolton and Horwich.
