Work gets underway on £1.2m All Seasons revamp
Community Leisure Services (CLS) has begun the £1.2m revamp of All Seasons Leisure Centre in Chorley.
The improvements will include creating a new 3,500sq ft Precor-equipped gym on the ground floor, to replace the existing 2,000sq ft gym on the first floor – which will remain open until the new suite is completed.
The new gym, which will boast more than 70 stations, is scheduled to open by February next year.
Further improvements at the centre include transforming the area of the old gym into a new 30-capacity dance studio which can also be utilised as a crèche, creating a new changing village for the swimming pool and adding new lockers, a new reception area and a snack bar. The dry side changing rooms will also be refurbished.
CLS manages the site on behalf of Chorley Council.
Cllr Mark Perks, executive member for health, leisure and wellbeing, said: "Every effort will be made to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum for users and we will ensure they will be kept fully up to date of arrangements at the leisure centres during the different stages of the work. The programme has been carefully planned to ensure that the public are able to use the facilities throughout."
Clare Kennedy, chief executive of CLS added: "We are delighted at the commitment of Chorley Council to investment in All Seasons Leisure Centre and looking forward to the enhancements that will be available to benefit of the local community.”
The leisure trust is also set to undertake work to upgrade facilities at Clayton Green Sports Centre, though final details have yet to be confirmed. Details: www.communityleisure.co.uk
