Wirral resorts secure funding boost

Three seaside resorts on the Wirral - New Brighton, Hoylake and West Kirby - have been awarded a funding boost by the government.
Wirral Council has revealed that the government has agreed to contribute £200,000 towards schemes that are designed to help the three locations build on their heritage. Andrew Hodson, council cabinet member for regeneration and planning strategy, said: "These funds have been allocated by Government on the basis of need and, as every penny counts, we will ensure that the money is allocated wisely and to give the biggest effect to the local economy."
