VisitBritain launches City Culture campaign
Tourism minister, Richard Caborn, launched VisitBritain’s new City Culture campaign at the British Travel Trade Fair (BTTF) in Birmingham yesterday.
The campaign, which showcases 30 of England’s ‘most vibrant’ city destinations is aimed at encouraging British visitors to experience ‘the rich cultural heritage of England’s cities’ and includes recommendations for quality places to visit and stay plus ideas for eating out, shopping and entertainment.
It will be sponsored by Jurys Doyle Hotels and Jurys Inns, has an accompanying, free 80-page brochure and has also been endorsed by 11 leading UK figures including Darcy Bussell, Loyd Grossman, Gary Lineker and Lord Puttnam, who will each provide insights into their own field of excellence.
VisitBritain also announced it will sponsor the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the next year. Together, VisitBritain and the orchestra will be carrying out a series of marketing activities to encourage more people to ‘Enjoy England’.
Richard Caborn said: “This campaign is about reminding other potential visitors of the rich variety of architecture, attractions, festivals, literary and movie locations our cities boast alongside great theatre, free museums, galleries and performing arts for every taste.”
