Visit London pension deal secured
London Assembly members have welcomed an agreement that will see the Greater London Authority (GLA) rescue Visit London's pension scheme and pay off its creditors.
It follows the signing of a deal between London mayor Boris Johnson, administrators of the former tourism agency and pension trustees. It will cost the GLA an estimated £3m. Dee Doocey, chair of the assembly's economy, culture and sport committee, said: "This deal will come as a great relief to all of those businesses owed money and members of the pension scheme who faced uncertainty after Visit London went into administration."
Visit London was wound down and replaced by a new agency - London and Partners - earlier this year.
