The Club Company to open Lichfield site
The Club Company will launch its new Lichfield Golf & Country Club site in Staffordshire this week.
The £4.7m site will open to the public on 17 December and it is the 11th and final site to be converted into the company’s country club concept.
The redevelopment of the site has seen a wide range of health and fitness facilities been added to the existing golf club, which bosats 27 holes on two separate courses.
The new health club includes a 4,000sq ft (sq m) suite equipped by Technogym, a holistic studio, aerobics studio, a 18m swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa bath.
There is also a group cycling studio equipped with Keiser bikes as well as an Ofsted-approved creche for members with children.
RIchard Gee, general manager of the country club, said: “The golf club has been part of the community for 16 years and the addition of the health club is a great benefit to the area, not only in temrs if the facility but also in terms of employment in the region.
Private Investment firm Boundary acquired the Club Company from Legal & General Ventures for £96m in June 2006 – just over two years after it acquired it for £57m in a public-to-private transaction.
