Rock Resorts to open multi-million dollar spa in Vermont
By
Rock Resorts will open its seventh Avanyu Spa in January 2003 in the beautiful surroundings of the Vermont mountains.
The 13,000 sq ft resort spa is being built onto the Equinox resort, which sits in 2,300 acres between the Green and Taconic mountains and boasts an 18 hole championship golf course.
Facilities in the spa will include a 75 x 25 ft heated indoor pool, a men's and ladies spa featuring sauna, steam and locker room, a fitness centre and yoga and pilates movement studio and dining rooms with spa cuisine prepared by former Five Diamond Boulders Resort chef, Mary Nearn..
As well as massages, facials and body treatments, the spa menu will include signature therapies such as a Maple sugar scrub, Green algae mountain exfoliation and wrap and 'The Spirit of vermont' reiki, reflexology and massage treatment.
In-keeping with the international Spa Associations findings that nearly 50% of spa goers want outdoor pursuits in a mountain setting, the Equinox Resort tailors its activities to suit its location. Falconry, fly fishing, ice-skating, snow mobiling and cross country skiing will all be on offer.
The Avanyu spa will also reflect its mountain location by offering head, neck and shoulder massages to golfers and special wraps to skiers. All spa goers will be able to enjoy the relaxing waiting lounge with cosy fire, herbal teas and fresh fruits.
Rock Resorts owns and manages ten luxury resorts, seven of which have a spa.
Sue Wheeler will be the Spa Director of Avanya Equinox when it opens in January 2003.
