The Ritz-Carlton hotel company is set to launch The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong in China.
The hotel will comprise 286 guestrooms and suites, four restaurants, a lobby lounge and a bar as well as a 1,600sq m (17,700sq ft) meeting and function area.
Further facilities will include an indoor swimming pool and a 1,500sq m (16,000sq ft) health club and spa.
The hotel was designed by Connecticut-based architects Cesar Pelli and Associates and will be developed and owned by Hong Kong-based real estate company Sun Hung Kai Properties. It is scheduled to open in 2010.
It will be located on the upper floors of a 60-storey skyscraper accommodating a mixed-use development, which will include office space, retail and residential apartments.
The Ritz-Carlton has more than 20 projects currently under development worldwide, with hotel openings planned for Moscow, Ireland and Tokyo over the next year. Details: www.ritzcarlton.com
