Reebok has entered the Indian health and fitness market, with the opening of a Reebok Fitness Centre in New Delhi.

The 4,000 sq ft facility has achieved 170 members since it opened in August 2002.

The club is equipped with Star Trac, Life Fitness and Cybex equipment as well as Reebok Cross Trainers which is a first for a health club in India.

Facilities also include an aerobics studio which is currently undergoing expansion plans which will increase the clubs total size to over 5,000 sq ft when it is completed in November.

The staff and trainers at the fitness centre are all Reebok certified, including Mr Prasad, an 11 time winner of the Mr India title.

Mr Samir Jasuja who is in charge of operations at the club, runs First Fitness Ventures, the company which has the Reebok franchise for India.

Mr Jasuja says:

'Reebok Fitness Centres offer personal training, specialised aerobic programmes and dieticians to give an all round healthy workout. This, along with the discounts we give members at Reebok stores will be our strength.'

First Fitness Ventures will open two more Reebok Fitness Centres in the next six months. The clubs, which will be larger at 15,000 sq ft each, are planned for Gurgaon and Noida - both satellite cities of New Delhi.
