Redbridge to open new £7.6m sports hall next month

Redbridge Sports & Leisure look set to open the doors to their new £7.6m Sports Hall in January 2012, as the twelve-month construction project by Kier Eastern draws to its conclusion.
The New Indoor Arena will feature 12 Badminton/3 Netball courts, as well as 2 Wellness Studios, a Cafe and 250-capacity Top Floor Sports and Corporate Hospitality venue, adding to the Centre's existing 25 acre developed site.
The fantastic new venue, built to elite badminton & netball specification, showcases the legacy benefit to East London of the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, where it shall host Games Time Training for Badminton, Judo, Wrestling & Goalball.
More than £2m of the project cost has been met by Redbridge Sports & Leisure, with significant funding support provided by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), Sport England, Mayors Legacy Fund, Badminton England & England Netball, as well as several local benefactors.
The Indoor Arena will be formally opened in March 2012, which also marks the 40th Anniversary of the official opening of Redbridge Sports Centre by Princess Alexandria.
