Profits warning from Springwood

Springwood, the bar and nightclub operator of the Zanzibar and Corbana chains, has warned that its 2002 profits would fail to meet expectations after a poor end of year trading.
The company said it expected to report pre-tax profits of around £3m due to the 'unexpected downtown in trade in the sector'. Trading shortfalls in the venues awaiting redevelopment were also blamed.
