Plans for an art gallery in Leith, Scotland, have reportedly been scrapped after the Scottish Executive decided not to back it.
The gallery was to be the centre of a new cultural quarter in Edinburgh’s former docklands area, situated on the site of the former VA Tech building.
Architects RMJM had designed a scheme for a building with 160,000sq m (1.7million sq ft) of floor space would have housed the Anthony D’Offay art collection, recently acquired for the National Galleries of Scotland.
