Plans for world's first Liquorice museum
Plans have been revealed to build a museum in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, dedicated to liquorice.
The Liqourice Museum, which would potentially call the former Pontefract court home, will look back at 400 years of sweet making history, with the museum, according to Pontefract Groups Together (PGT) secretary Sir William O'Brien, having "world-wide appeal."
Tangerine and Haribo, who both operate factories in the area, have backed the plans.
The town was once home to 13 liquorice factories, but production has since declined and now only the Tangerine and Haribo sites remain.
