PayasUgym concept to launch
A new service that allows users to visit a number of gyms around the Greater London area is set to launch later this month.
PayasUgym, the brainchild of entrepreneurs Neil Harmsworth and Jamie Ward, is an online gym network which utilises smartphone technology for customers to locate a gym, book a session and pay per each visit without membership fees.
The service has established a network of more than 100 gyms which are taking part in the scheme. Nearly all the clubs are inside the M25.
The part taking clubs range from small, independently-owned gyms to large centres owned and operated by chains and local authorities and management companies.
The cost of each gym session varies from £5 to £35 depending on the club and the services it offers – as well as the time of visit.
Neil Harmsworth told Leisure Opportunities that the company plans to establish payasUgym networks in other UK cities during 2011.
The venture has been part0funded by Envestors Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AIM-listed Braveheart Investment Group.
