Online movie tunes from Warner
Warner Village cinemas has launched a digital radio station on its website in conjunction with FLIX Radio.
The station will provide non-stop music from classic and contemporary movie soundtracks, film information and Hollywood gossip while customers book tickets online or surf the site.
Infinity Media, owner of FLIX radio - the 'music from the movies' station, came up with idea of linking FLIX with a cinema chain in order to increase marketing for both, increase revenue for the station, and help the cinema chain build brand loyalty.
Sarah Kelly, director of sales and marketing for Warner Village Cinemas, said: 'Internet radio has already proved extremely popular with a young contingent of web users and we are convinced it will appeal to the core 15-35 year old age group who regularly use warnervillage.co.uk.'
The radio station is one part of Warner Village's website re-vamp. It is also launching Warner Village Online, a sub-brand within warnervillage.co.uk, offering more detailed information about films - particularly via a monthly e-newsletter - personalised homepage and offers exclusive to its 246,000 registered members.
Warner Village Online and Warner Village Radio are being supported by a POS campaign in cinemas and a postcard campaign run through health clubs, bars and universities.
