Next Gen completes Harbour Club revamp
Health club operator Next Generation has completed a £400,000 revamp of its exclusive Harbour Club in Notting Hill, London.
Redevelopment work on the club included the overhaul of the main cv area – supplied by Life Fitness – which is now divided into two parts.
On one side, CV machines face banks of LCD screens, while the other offers equipment with integrated LCD screens for a more personal exercise experience.
A large functional fitness space has been created at the heart of the club, where members can use weights, cables and SAQ equipment.
Surrounding this space is a full-sized boxing ring and punch bags supplied by Escape Fitness. Boxercise classes are now held in this area, which is also being utilised by the club’s personal trainers specialising in boxing.
Three new personal training pods have also been installed, in which members can work out in privacy, either alone or with a personal trainer.
Each pod features a Life Fitness Dual Adjustable Pulley as well as personal training equipment.
According to Sam Jones, a manager at the club, around 10 per cent of members regularly take personal training.
He said: “We already have some of the best personal trainers around, and if we are to continue to increase our personal training revenues, we have to ensure we have the best facilities too.”
Two new group training areas have been created including a Crew Corner to host group rowing classes for up to six members. There’s also a vibration area housing three new Vibrogym exercise stations to meet customer demand.
