New website for Cardiff Council sports service
A new online resource has been unveiled by Cardiff Council's sports development team to help improve grassroots participation in the city.
The website will provide a home for Sport.Cardiff, a scheme that aims to enhance provision through clubs, coaching and competitions in an effort to benefit children and young people. The resource will provide practical guidance for setting up new sports clubs and will explain how people can get involved with development programmes.
Cardiff Council executive member for sport, leisure and culture, Nigel Howells, said: "[Sport.Cardiff's] contribution to Cardiff's vision to be a world class capital for sport is invaluable and this new website is a one stop resource to learn about their work and get involved in this extremely successful and worthwhile initiative." A range of partners are helping to deliver the programme alongside the council, including Cardiff City Football Club; Cardiff Blues rugby union team; and Glamorgan Cricket.
