New-look park to officially reopen in Neath

Neath's Victoria Gardens - initially opened for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897 - is to officially reopen tomorrow (8 July), following the completion of a £1.4m restoration.
Heritage Lottery Fund and Cadw support has helped finance the work, which has comprised improvements to the bandstand and the reinstatement of iron railings removed in the 1940s. Neath Port Talbot Council leader Ali Thomas said: "It is an attractive venue that paves the way for community events in the future and preserved for generations to come."
