New centre for Welsh woodland conservation
A disused Forestry Commission Wales (FCW) building in Pembrey, South Wales, has been transformed into a woodland centre by local volunteers.
The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) will use the facility as a base to carry out work to preserve surrounding woodlands. FCW agreed to the proposals after supporting plans for volunteers to carry out work in Penybedd and Pembrey woodlands.
BTCV's work will also include enhancing recreation facilities, with the woodlands popular with walkers.
