New carriages for Tintern's Old Station
Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) has completed work to replace railway carriages at The Old Station in Tintern - part of its Overlooking the Wye initiative.
The new-look carriages will be officially opened tomorrow (16 July) to help celebrate the Old Station's successful attempt to gain Visit Wales' visitor attraction quality accreditation. A new-look shop and the new Destination Wye Valley exhibition have been created inside the carriages, while a Victorian tearoom and a playground are also among the facilities at the attraction.
Overlooking the Wye, which is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, is managed by the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in partnership with the council.
