The creation of a new National Museum for the Performing Arts in Blackpool is becoming increasingly likely thanks to the V&A’s Board of Trustees and the DCMS agreeing to, and funding, a feasability study for the proposed development.
Over the last 18 months discussions have taken place beween the V&A and Blackpool Council on the possibility of building a new venue to showcase the V&A’s theatre and performance collections, in addition to an array of items held in public and private collections based in Blackpool and material from other national and international partners.
