Middlesbrough Historic Quarter work complete
Middlesbrough Council has announced that work has been completed on efforts to preserve and improve the town's Historic Quarter.
Funded using a £750,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Middlesbrough Townscape Heritage Initiative scheme has seen six listed buildings refurbished. The former Trustees Savings Bank and adjoining offices on Albert Road have been converted and could now see restaurants and shops occupy the ground floor.
Meanwhile, the Ayresome Park public house is to become a bar and nightclub, while the former parcel depot and fish quay will provide studio space for artists.
