Mansfield Town 'locked out' of stadium
Mansfield Town Football Club (MTFC) has expressed disappointment at a decision to terminate the club's lease on it Field Mill stadium.
The Blue Square Bet Premier club has moved to reassure fans that is working to resolve the situation and will make alternative arrangements for future home games. It follows the announcement last month that MTFC would not pay rent directly to ground owner Stags Limited until investigations into financial transactions were completed.
MTFC offered to pay outstanding rent into an escrow account held by Stags' solicitors, while law firm Pinsent Masons looked into payments involving the company. In September, current owner John Radford acquired the club for £1 from Andy Saunders, Steve Hymas and Steve Middleton, who all remained as non-executive directors.
