Lytham St Annes swimming pool to reopen

Fylde Borough Council (FBC) has announced that St Annes pool in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, is to reopen on 1 September under the management of Fylde Coast YMCA.
The facility will include a 25m pool and a gym equipped with a range of cv and resistance equipment, having been closed by the council in 2008. The new management deal will now save taxpayers £147,000 a year. FBC cabinet member for leisure and culture Sue Fazackerley said: "[The YMCA] runs similar facilities across the Fylde coast and they have proved they have the expertise to attract thousands of users.
"The opening of the pool will help revitalise St Annes promenade in the lead up to the 2012 Golf Open Championship."
