Lottery funding for historic Suffolk mill
Suffolk's Woodbridge Tide Mill has been handed nearly £956,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) towards plans to enhance the attraction's visitor experience.
Plans include efforts to protect the foundations of the mill with a concrete breakwater and a new wheelhouse to provide more space for maintenance and viewing. Interactive models; computer-generated graphics; and games and puzzles are also proposed in order to provide a more hands-on experience.
Robyn Llewellyn, head of the HLF East of England, said: "This project will offer visitors from across the community new opportunities chance to explore and learn about the mill and its history." The total cost of the scheme is estimated to be more than £1.2m.
