Hilton to open first Polish hotel
Hilton International has signed an agreement to manage its first hotel in Poland on behalf of a group of investors led by Dirom Building Investments & Developments.
The Hilton Warsaw will be a 320-room hotel and conference centre, and form part of a mixed use development in the west of the city.
Hilton's chief executive, Anthony Harris, said: 'We are delighted to be entering Warsaw, a location of increasing importance as a gateway city in that part of Europe.'
Construction is expected to commence towards the end of this year, with the hotel scheduled to open at the end of 2004.
Hilton already has a portfolio of hotels in Eastern and Central Europe, including Budapest, Prague, Sofia and a forthcoming property in Moscow.
