Halesowen Town handed FA suspension
Halesowen Town Football Club (HTFC) has been barred by the Football Association (FA) from playing any further fixtures this season until it is able to resolve a dispute over wage payments to a group of former players.
The club, which is currently challenging for promotion from the British Gas Business Football League Premier Division, had threatened legal action against the decision but is now looking to clear the debts in order to allow a match against Corby Town to go ahead as planned on 4 April.A statement from the club's chief executive, Guy Simpson, said: "We have managed to reach an agreement with the FA as to exactly what we have to achieve, and the timeframe that it must be completed by, for the suspension to be lifted. "We have raised the necessary funds to be able to clear the debts with some of the parties and remain very confident that we will be able to complete the final parts of what we need to achieve in time for the match against Corby to go ahead."
