WSA Management opened the 4,300sq ft (400sq m) G-Spa at the hotel in March 2006. The Bath Butler service was then introduced in August, primarily for wealthy travellers.
The service is mostly aimed at Generation X clientele – or those born between 1963 and 1978 – who are looking to lengthen their spa ritual with a personalised in-room experience.
Due to its popularity, current bath butler Rachel Lang is to train more spa staff to become butlers and fulfil the demand.
The treatment begins with the guest calling the spa and the butler asking them a series of questions to best personalise the bath.
Guests have a choice of a number of elements, including sensory oils, music and candles.
All materials are then brought up to the room where the bath is prepared and the health and beauty benefits explained.
