Gambling reform will spoil harmless seaside fun
The changes to gaming law proposed by the Budd Report will spoil the harmless fun at coastal arcades, according to a report for BACTA.
The report conducted by The Opinion Research Business (ORB), found that today's amusement arcades are a vital component of a seaside holiday. Over half of the 961 families interviewed said the proposed regulation on cranes, ticket redemption and penny falls is an example of a Nanny State.
The report also found that the majority of children who play in arcades on holiday, do not play any of the machines while at home. The report concluded that 'arcades, like eating junk food and staying up late, was part of the holiday experience. No less, no more'.
