Aromatherapy Associates is set to launch its first Forest Therapy treatment at the Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, after entering into an exclusive product partnership with the resort spa.

The partnership follows the launch of Aromatherapy Associate's new Forest Therapy collection, the brand's first new blend since founder Geraldine Howard passed away in 2016.

Inspired by Japanese forest bathing rituals - also known as shinrin-yoku, the idea that spending time in nature improves overall wellbeing - the blend was developed in partnership with author and forest therapy expert Sarah Ivens and contains pink pepper, juniper berry, ho wood and Mediterranean cypress.

The 60-minute treatment, which will be exclusive to the Galgorm throughout August and September, is designed to encourage guests to reconnect with nature and lead more 'natureful' lives. It begins with a cleansing, guided inhalation exercise, before a tension releasing massage is performed on the back and legs. A warm mud mask is then applied to the hands and feet to help them recharge. The treatment ends with a scalp massage to relieve tension and cleanse the away the stresses of modern living.

In addition, Aromatherapy Associates will also supply essential oils to be used in each of the Galgorm's spa treatments.
