Gabby Logan kicks off National Pub Football Week
National Pub Football Week kicks off across the UK and Ireland on 6 September.
Up to 18,000 pubs will be taking part in the promotion by providing live coverage of the England, Scotland, Wales and Republic of Ireland matches in the latest round of Euro 2004 qualifiers for football fans.
The week will be officially launched on 3 September by tv presenter Gabby Logan alongside former Northern Ireland international, Norman Whiteside; Scotland’s Gordon McQueen and England’s Viv Anderson.
Pub chains supporting the promotion – which include Punch Pub Company, Enterprise Inns, Pubmaster, InnSpired and Unique – will be giving customers the chance to win prizes including football shirts, table football games, t-shirts and tickets for Premiership matches.
The official website also offers the chance to pick a European dream team.
Carolyn Lord, project manager of National Pub Football Week, said: “National Pub Football Week is a great way for fans to give the armchair the red card and sample the thrills and spills of these crucial qualifying games.” Details: www.nationalpubweek.co.uk
