Two-storey Bulgari Spa makes debut
The Bulgari Hotel Beijing, designed by architecture studio Citterio-Viel & Partners, opens tomorrow (Wednesday, 27 September).
The 119-bedroom ‘urban resort’ has been designed as an oasis of tranquility that blends art with nature, and includes a two-storey Bulgari Spa developed by consultancy, development and management firm GOCO Hospitality.
The 1,500sq m (16,146sq ft) spa includes a 25m swimming pool, a vitality pool, relaxation lounges, eight treatment rooms and two treatment suites, a male grooming room, steam room, sauna and ice fountain.
Described as combining “the timeless glamour and heritage of Bulgari with a contemporary Italian luxury that’s blended with unique local Chinese influences,” the spa uses rare and lavish materials and custom-built features.
“We very much enjoyed working closely with the highly experienced Bulgari team to help bring their stunning vision to life,” said Ingo Schweder, GOCO Hospitality founder and CEO. “The new Bulgari Spa will truly be a leading wellness facility for the residents of and visitors to Beijing.”
GOCO worked with the Bulgari team to develop the spa’s range of treatments, such as the signature Himalayan Crystal Healing Journey, which uses ancient Himalayan salt crystals in a series of treatments to cleanse and purify the body.
Another journey was developed to repair and protect the skin from the negative effects of atmospheric pollution through the nourishing powers of organic avocado, pomegranate seed oil and jasmine, while a third signature journey takes inspiration from ancient Chinese health and wellness philosophies including qi, tai chi, acupressure and foot reflexology.
