The Walter Rothschild Zoological Museum in Tring, Hertfordshire, will open a new exhibition called Fossil Folklore on 12 February.
The family oriented exhibit will examine what fossils are, how they are formed and how they have been used and portrayed in myth, medicine and magic.
Fossil specimens and photographs will also be displayed, along with interactives to encourage children to dig for and identify different fossils.
The presentation will run until to 8 July and will include a huge woolly rhinoceros skull, as rhinoceros fossils were previously thought to be dragons.
