First phase of transport museum expansion near completion
The first phase of the US$15m (£9.1m, 10.1m euro) expansion of the Buffalo Tranportation/Piece-Arrow Museum in New York State, US, is nearing completion.
Following the completion of the first phase, which cost US$6.3m (£3.8m, 4.2m euro), work on the second phase – the creation of a glass atrium – is due to begin next spring.
However, according to the The Buffalo News, the third phase – which will be a two-storey, 60,000sq ft building – has no construction timetable in place as funding has not yet been secured.
The museum has a scheduled reopening date of autumn 2011.
